Math Department

The Math department at Mountain View High School develops confident problem-solvers and critical thinkers through a rigorous and supportive learning environment.  Our curriculum emphasizes conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world application to prepare students for college, careers, and everyday decision-making.

Students engage in reasoning, modeling, and collaborative problem-solving as they explore mathematical concepts across a range of courses and levels.  Instruction focuses on helping students make sense of mathematics, explain their thinking, and apply skills to new and challenging situations.

Through consistent expectations and multiple pathways, the Math department supports all learners as they build perseverance, precision, and confidence in their mathematical abilities.
