Math Department
The math department at Mountain View High School strives to meet the needs of each student. Incoming students are supported with a menu of options to help their transition from middle school to high school, whether they need extra intervention with our Algebra A and B courses or desire a challenge with honors courses.
We believe that a strong foundation in mathematics is important for launching into the next phase of life of pursuing a career or higher education. Students should expect to work through Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra II.
There are several fourth year courses available to help students reach their goals for after school in applied mathematics (Financial Algebra, Data Analysis, and Problem Solving). Students also have the opportunity to earn college credit by taking and passing the exams for AP PreCalculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Statistics.
