Interscholastic Athletics and School Clubs/Activities

Mission

Mountain View High School Athletics and Activities Department will lead in athletic and activity excellence to provide students with an enriching interscholastic experience.

Participation depends on satisfactory medical examination, ability in the sport, participation fee, and compliance with all other rules for eligibility. Physical forms, insurance waivers, transportation, and Parent(s)/Guardian(s) permission forms must be completed through creating a Big Team account. Please click here to access registration instructions.

All athletes must comply with the eligibility rules set by the Colorado High School Activities Association. In addition, students and Parent(s)/Guardian(s) will be responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with policies and guidelines in the Thompson School District handbook.

Participation Requirements for Any Extra-Curricular Activity

  • During the period of participation, the minimum academic eligibility standard (coaches and sponsors can choose to have stricter academic standards) is students must be enrolled in courses which offer, in aggregate, a minimum of 2.5 academic units of credit and must not be failing more than the equivalent of .5 academic unit of credit.
  • Your academic eligibility at Mountain View will be checked weekly on Monday mornings. This will be done by checking the teachers’ grade reports to find out if you are eligible for competition that week.
  • Students who fail .5 units or more classes during the spring semester can take a comparable class during summer school to regain eligibility for the fall semester.
